I have been waiting to read this book forever and finally picked it out of my TBR Jar. If you haven’t read this book then you need to.
It’s 1948 England is recovering from the war and a baby is found dead in a pond. The main character Lawrie who is an immigrant from America finds the baby and the police accuse him of murder straight away, just because of the colour of his skin. It shows discrimination and also how hard it can be to be accepted in a world where you are told you don’t belong.
I loved this book it really tugged at the heart strings and made you appreciate the finer things in life. I love reading historical fiction and understanding what the world used to be like and the struggles people had to face.
